Day 2 Super Seminar Summary

Cost: $25 per person per day (a $35 savings each day over attending separate sessions at ESCH)


$40 per person for both days (an $80 savings over attending separate sessions at ESCH – an organization may send different people to each day and still receive the benefit but the same number of people from an organization attending each day must be the same to qualify for the 2-day discount)

The day consists of 3 independent seminars that focus on issues related to new fund development and securing continued interest/funding from donors. Topics cover a range of different activities that potentially can lead to mission success. These sessions are at an advanced level. Target audience: Well-established (3+ years) nonprofits.

New Donor Cultivation
Your first visit with a prospective donor is critical for successful fundraising. Learn the steps and secrets to carry out these introductory meetings.

Choosing and Measuring Outcomes & Indicators
Measuring the impact of program services is a challenge for many nonprofits, however, foundations and corporations increasingly are asking grantees to produce outcome information that is more than the measure of output (e.g. how many served). This workshop will assist participants to begin to connect service delivery process with measurable outcomes, a step beyond measuring/reporting program outputs. Participants will gain information regarding the steps and tools needed to design, collect, and analyze program outcomes using a model that can be applied to many types of programs and services.

Earned Income
Nonprofits that sell products or services sometimes called social enterprise) are more common than you may realize. Think thrift shops, gift shops, repair shops, educational services and food services among many others. The seminar explores how to start a money-making enterprise, its legal boundaries, the elements of risk involved, the kinds of enterprise that are most congenial to nonprofits, both measures and rates of success among them, typical reasons for failure, and other related matters.
