Cost: $25 per person per day (a $35 savings each day over attending separate sessions at ESCH)


$40 per person for both days (an $80 savings over attending separate sessions at ESCH – an organization may send different people to each day and still receive the benefit but the
same number of people from an organization attending each day must be the same to qualify for the 2-day discount)

September 17 (Thursday) - Essentials of Nonprofit Management

This event is ONE seminar consisting of 4 parts. The seminar focuses on the internal elements an organization should consider as it pursues the accomplishment of its mission. These sessions are at a beginner’s level. Target audience: Newly-formed (less than 3 years) nonprofits; persons interested in forming a nonprofit; persons interested in refreshing their knowledge of the basics of nonprofit management.

Financial Management/Fund Development
This is an introductory course for individuals wanting an understanding of budgets, forecasts and functional expense reports. This workshop will help you develop and use these financial reports and short-term planning tools to measure your success in meeting your organization's objectives. Coaching and hands on examples are included.

10:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

Human Resources
Every non-profit has people - staff, volunteers, boards, clients and donors. When you have people you have issues. This seminar provides you a broad overview of the many possible people related issues that are critical to the successful operation of your organization. Such areas as having a clear and compelling Mission/Vision, organizational alignment, work processes, effective teams, proper communications, policies, hiring, discipline, pay, conflict resolution, volunteer and staff relationships etc. This seminar will inspire you to consider which areas your organization may need further, more in depth assistance from an ESCH professional HR consultant in order to successfully achieve your mission.

Governance
An understanding of how nonprofit corporations are effectively governed is critical to the success of their missions. This seminar presents detailed discussion of the roles and responsibilities of governing boards, individual board members, executive directors and staff members of nonprofits, with special emphasis on development of new and changing boards.

2:45 – 4:15 p.m.

Planning
This seminar is an introduction to the planning process and is designed to help nonprofits determine if they need to develop a strategic plan. It answers basic questions about types of plans and the planning process. It explains how an ESCH consultant can help in the process and what the client organization needs to contribute. The target audience for this seminar includes board members and executive directors responsible for the future of their organizations.
